About the position
As a Jr Materials Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely completion of production projects by assisting in the creation and maintenance of production schedules. Your responsibilities will include monitoring the flow of materials to production lines, serving as a 'Water Spider' to keep workstations stocked, and collaborating with supervisors to adjust schedules as needed. Effective communication and the use of computer systems to track production progress will be essential in this role, along with supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and maintaining production schedules to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Monitor the flow of materials and components to production lines, ensuring availability to meet production schedules.
- Serve as a 'Water Spider' by ensuring that workstations are consistently stocked with necessary materials to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with supervisors and production staff to adjust schedules and material flow to accommodate production changes.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and other departments regarding production needs and timelines.
- Use computer systems to track production progress, input scheduling data, and generate reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and addressing inefficiencies in production scheduling and material flow processes.
Requirements
- Experience in manufacturing, production planning, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and purchase order processes.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
