About The Position

This off-shift Jr. GAUGE INSPECTOR position will be located in the Whitehall Casting Operation. Primary responsibilities will include performing receiving inspection on new gauges and fixtures for accuracy and repeatability, correlating gauges and fixtures to customer part designs, and performing periodic inspection of gauges and fixtures used by manufacturing. The role also involves analyzing and troubleshooting pneumatic, electronic, and mechanical production gauges, writing tool room work orders for gauge repair, and working with other layout personnel on cooperative projects. The position requires compliance with all EHS rules for the work environment and the operation of computer and software systems for dimensional gauge inspection. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Two years continuous work history; or 6 months manufacturing experience post high school.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective math skills.
  • Effective communication skills and be able to learn and understand complex blueprints and gauges.
  • Computer literacy with emphasis on AutoCAD or similar software a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving inspection on new gauges and fixtures for accuracy and repeatability.

  • Performs periodic inspection of gauges and fixtures used by manufacturing.

  • Complies with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
  • Operates computer and software systems for purpose of dimensional gauge inspection.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
