About The Position

Hopkins| Lacy, the MEP division of Branch is searching for a collaborative and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our well-established, growing company. The Estimator must possess a working knowledge of MEP construction.

Requirements

Vocational High School/Associates Degree/Technical degree in Computer Aided Drafting/ Construction Management or MEP or related field construction experience is preferred
2+ years of prior estimating experience preferred
Proficiency with AGTEK earthwork software or similar.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
Self-motivated, self-starter, who demonstrates the ability to manage time effectively.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

Quantify project components assigned by the estimator in charge
Develop a clear understanding of the project scope and phasing utilizing the project plans and specifications
Executing accurate and detailed quantity takeoffs utilizing AGTEK, Planswift, and Bluebeam software.
Maintain take-off spreadsheets for organizing material descriptions and quantities, back up of work, and project summaries
Supports estimators by preparing site layout drawings, KMZ overlays, haul charts, and other detailed drawings and diagrams for MEP projects.
Compose quantity comparison spreadsheets.
Identifying constructability issues through the estimating process.
Assisting in sub-contractor and supplier solicitations.
Work with estimator in charge to prepare and/or deliver the bid package
Other duties as assigned
