About the position
The Journeyman Lineman position at PacifiCorp involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of transmission and distribution electrical systems, both overhead and underground. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work with various tools and equipment, including line trucks and aerial lifts. Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair all transmission and distribution electrical systems and associated equipment.
- Climb poles, use hot sticks, and work from truck-mounted bucket lifts to construct, repair, or maintain line equipment.
- Operate switches, cutouts, and grounding devices to work on de-energized lines and equipment.
- Perform transformer wiring and related tasks.
- Train and direct the work of trainees in the trade.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent Journeyman Lineman certification.
- Completion of a formal training program for a Journeyman Lineman.
- Must meet examining board review of skills and experience and pass testing through Rocky Mountain Power.
- Hot stick training and experience required.
- Class A Commercial Driver's License is mandatory.
- Must pass a post-offer, pre-placement physical capacity screening.
