Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing intermediate level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives. What you’ll do: Possesses intermediate-level knowledge and performs a variety of assignments with proficiency, applying theory and analytical techniques to solve diverse problems and complete detailed analyses. Demonstrates competency in handling moderately complex tasks by breaking problems into component steps. Understands the interrelationships between systems and equipment and can analyze and recommend improvements to business processes. Coordinates work activities within the team, department, or across the organization as needed to complete routine tasks. Performs engineering activities with minimal direction from senior staff. Adheres to company policies, standards, and external regulations. Provides training and guidance to junior employees. Assists in developing inputs for forecasting costs related to routine projects and improvements. Applies scheduling tools (e.g., CPM, PERT, flowcharts) for planning and budgeting. Takes corrective action when project objectives are not being met. Identifies and resolves routine problems, often requiring clarification before analysis. Recognizes issues beyond standard processes and proactively seeks opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates initiative and openness to new ideas and approaches. Prepares, reviews, and presents technical reports—such as improvement requests, studies, and analyses—in a clear, concise, and effective manner. Works effectively as a team member and builds relationships with peers inside and outside the organization. Identifies key stakeholders, leverages networks to achieve results, and resolves conflicts to build consensus. Makes decisions within established policies and procedures, subject to review. Understands and considers risk, impacts team outcomes, and demonstrates the ability to draw logical conclusions from available information. Understands organizational structure and the role of their unit. Demonstrates knowledge of budgeting and approval processes. Applies economic analysis techniques to problem solving and develops an understanding of utility regulation and financing.
