About the position

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Oncology Infusion Center is responsible for providing and coordinating interdisciplinary patient care using the nursing process. This role emphasizes the importance of relationships in patient care, expert clinical skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning and quality improvement. The RN will engage in shared governance and innovation to enhance patient outcomes and support the onboarding of new team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and coordinate interdisciplinary patient care utilizing the nursing process.
  • Integrate ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice and the ANA Code of Ethics in daily practice.
  • Demonstrate expert caring through clinical assessment, planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and implementing care.
  • Participate in shared governance and demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Engage in professional development and support the onboarding of new team members.
  • Adhere to clinical documentation guidelines and engage in performance improvement activities.
  • Apply technologies that support patient care and implement evidence-based practices.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience in nursing.
  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
