About the position
The Job Coach/Instructor position is designed for individuals passionate about educating and empowering adults with developmental disabilities and autism. The role focuses on developing and implementing educational programs that enhance the independence and lifestyle of participants, while fostering an inclusive environment that promotes learning and growth.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement educational programs tailored to individuals with autism and developmental disabilities.
- Educate participants on essential skills for job readiness, including interviewing techniques and workplace etiquette.
- Supervise and assist consumers with activities in the community such as internships, pre-employment, volunteer work programs, social skills, life skills, physical fitness, and financial awareness.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to convey information clearly.
- Commitment to continuous professional development in relevant areas.
