About the position

The Java Architect role is a contract-to-hire position focused on designing and implementing a robust RESTful API ecosystem within a cloud-native and event-driven architecture, primarily utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The position requires a blend of hands-on development and architectural oversight, with an emphasis on mentoring junior developers and collaborating with engineering teams to innovate and apply best practices in API design and event-driven architecture.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and implement a robust and scalable RESTful API ecosystem within a cloud-native and portable event-driven architecture focused on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Leverage event-driven architecture (EDA) principles and Confluent Kafka to ensure seamless communication and data exchange across the platform.
• Hands-on design and implementation of RESTful APIs and Kafka consumers and producers using Java and following best practices.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to apply new patterns and approaches in platform development.
• Lead the Centers of Excellence (COEs) development focused on RESTful APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Java developer.
• 1+ years of architecture experience.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Java and best practices.
• Strong understanding of event-driven architecture (EDA) principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
