About the position
The Japanese Bilingual Purchasing Agent will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing of food and non-food items for a Japanese food manufacturer. This role involves sourcing products, managing transportation logistics, negotiating prices, and ensuring product quality through customer feedback and sampling. The agent will also create purchase orders based on market analysis and sales forecasts, while reviewing inventory for discrepancies and calculating product costs to determine profit margins.
Responsibilities
- Oversee purchasing of frozen, dry foods, and non-food items, including sourcing.
- Handle transportation logistics, price negotiations, and product development.
- Create purchase orders based on analysis and forecasting product sales volume and market demands.
- Secure product quality by sampling and customer feedback.
- Review inventory for discrepancies and identify each product's condition and needs.
- Calculate product costs and prices to determine profit margin.
Requirements
- Bilingual language ability in Japanese (required).
- 2+ years of food purchasing experience or training preferred.
- Experience in ERP systems (1 year preferred).
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Customer service experience.
