About the position

This position is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and repairing carpeted and hard floor surfaces. Other duties may be assigned as needed. The role involves performing all project cleaning duties (post construction, floor care, carpet care, etc.) for customers using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures. Duties include sweeping, mopping, polishing, vacuuming, shampooing carpets, stripping, waxing, buffing, moving furniture, disinfecting floors with sanitizer, spot cleaning, and cleaning of elevators and stairs. The position requires a thorough understanding of floor maintenance procedures, including stripping and waxing, and the ability to identify different flooring types. Additionally, the candidate must be able to operate various floor equipment and machinery, maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, and use proper PPE and safety equipment as required. The role also includes responsibilities such as opening and locking facilities and enabling and disabling security systems as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform all project cleaning duties for customers using ServiceMaster provided tools and procedures
• Sweep, mop, polish, vacuum, shampoo carpets, strip, wax, and buff floors
• Move furniture and disinfect floors with sanitizer
• Spot clean and clean elevators and stairs
• Achieve thorough understanding of floor maintenance procedures
• Operate various floor equipment and machinery
• Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
• Use proper PPE and safety equipment as required
• Open and lock facilities, enable and disable security systems as required

Requirements

• Minimum 1-2 years' experience as a floor tech is highly desired but not required
• Ability to operate various floor equipment and machinery
• Must be able to communicate in English
• Ability to read cleaning instructions
• Ability to differentiate between cleaning products and uses
