About The Position

Work in plant area to perform janitorial services and keep plant facilities in clean, usable condition. This includes building janitorial, trash collection, and other area cleaning as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • Interact in employee and operating areas in order to clean without disrupting operations.
  • Cleaning may include cleaning and handling materials used in the manufacture of clinker and cement.
  • Cleaning agents, Necessary cleaning agents required to fulfill functions of the position.
  • Work is performed both inside and outside and will be affected by weather conditions.
  • Job may include shift scheduling.
  • Requires walking, and climbing stairs and inclines.
  • Requires lifting and carrying.
  • Requires ability to safely operate forklift and/or other mobile equipment as noted.
  • Ability to meet requirements as determined by company fit-for-duty position requisites.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators.
  • Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
  • Some areas may require additional PPE according to plant/company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans and maintains toilets, shower and locker rooms, washroom facilities, and break areas and lunch rooms.
  • Cleans Department offices as assigned.
  • Cleans areas including Control Room and Laboratory Areas.
  • Cleans entrances and walks to main shower room, and office buildings.
  • Maintains supplies needed in performance of job, orders when necessary.
  • Handles other janitorial duties assigned by Production Supervisor.
  • Empties plant trash cans and containers. Disposes of trash appropriately and keeps trash areas clear of debris.
  • Reports issues and repair needs using plant reporting procedures and logs, including communication with supervisor and other personnel.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
