About the position
The IT Technician role involves providing 24/7 support for Windows and Active Directory infrastructure, managing incidents, and executing project work related to server provisioning and maintenance. The technician will be responsible for monitoring alerts, resolving tickets, and ensuring system uptime through scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Windows and Active Directory Infrastructure Alerts and take remedial actions as per defined processes.
- Provision and decommission Windows OS on virtual machines or physical standalone servers.
- Perform DC promotion and demotion tasks.
- Manage Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) migration.
- Conduct patching and upgrades of systems.
- Respond to and resolve incident tickets before SLA breaches occur.
- Update contact emails for infrastructure downtime and non-downtime maintenance.
- Set up blackouts and perform shutdowns or reboots of servers during maintenance work.
Requirements
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory management.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies and server provisioning.
- Familiarity with incident management processes and ticketing systems.
- Ability to perform system patching and upgrades.
