About the position

The position involves demonstrating proficiency in imaging systems, including but not limited to imaging ultrasound, CT, MRI, PACS, digital radiography, portable x-ray, and radiation therapy technology. The role requires oversight and administration of daily operations and priorities for technical staff, managing the coordination and provision of comprehensive medical equipment-related services in focused clinical and administrative areas. This includes technical support, training, procedural assistance, vendor interface, preventive maintenance, and repair on complex medical equipment. Knowledge of systems and tools is essential to aid in development and to resolve equipment problems and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform as first line full-service expert in focus clinical and administrative areas specializing in imaging ultrasound, CT, MRI, and radiation therapy technology.
  • Demonstrates proficiency of preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs on minor to complex medical equipment.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining UVA medical equipment inventory system.
  • Coordinate and/or perform installation and initial inspections on medical equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety rules, codes, practices, and policies.
  • Mentors and trains technical staff.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate's Degree or CBET, Microsoft, Medical Device Manufacturer Certification, etc.
  • Experience: 5 years relevant experience.
  • Licensure: Valid Virginia Driver's License required.
