About the position

The IT Systems Specialist (ITSS) at Winter Park Resort plays a crucial role in the IT Operations team, focusing on the administration and implementation of core IT systems, including server, network, and cloud platforms. This position involves troubleshooting, maintenance, and support of various IT systems and equipment, ensuring efficient operation and service delivery to staff and vendors. The ITSS will also participate in strategic initiatives and project teams, contributing to the overall IT strategy of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the strategic execution, administration, and implementation of core IT systems.
  • Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server and network systems.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for day-to-day incident and support requests.
  • Participate in Enterprise working groups and project teams.
  • Maintain records/documentation and complete reports and inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain a library of PowerShell scripts and code snippets.
  • Act as an escalation point for IT Support Specialists to resolve incident and service request tickets.
  • Coordinate and maintain effective communication with all staff members and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with all Winter Park policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; College degree in Information Systems or related field desired.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of computers and related equipment and software.
  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of server and/or network systems.
  • Strong technical skills and ability to troubleshoot problems.
  • Experience with PowerShell and functional knowledge of scripting for Windows environments.
  • Experience with desktop operating systems including Microsoft Windows and MacOS.
  • Experience with setup and support of mobile devices including Windows mobile devices, iOS, and Android devices.
  • Experience with low-voltage Category (Cat5e/Cat6) cabling, installation, termination, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with 802.11 wireless network architecture and maintenance.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory systems and Group Policy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Linux/Unix server environments.
  • Experience with virtual server environments including VMware ESXi.
  • Experience with point-of-sale systems and associated peripherals.
  • Familiarity with cloud management systems and/or SaaS portals.
