About The Position

Valley Pacific Petroleum Services, Inc. is looking for an IT Support Specialist to work a Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 6 PM shift, with rotating on-call weekend shifts, based at our Stockton location, to support its IT environment. This person will be part of a Helpdesk team responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing all company computers (hardware) and phones (cellular and landline), and supporting all company software. This person will respond to end-user inquiries via phone or email. The IT Support Specialist will provide service consistent with Valley Pacific's Mission Statement. The successful candidate will have excellent technical, communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the following is preferred, but not required: Microsoft Server, Microsoft Windows 10/11, MS Office 365, Networking L2/L3, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Cisco Meraki Firewalls, Cisco CUCM/Unity, DNS, IPHONE iOS.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Helpdesk support to end users for all company hardware, software, and applications.
  • Administer new user accounts, work email addresses, and specific access levels to new employees.
  • Update and maintain proper inventory of company computers, printers, phones, and user accounts.
  • Evaluates vendor applications' compatibility by testing with the existing software and hardware environment.
  • Maximizes use of hardware and software by training users, interpreting instructions, and answering questions.
  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organizational outcomes, identifying problems, evaluating trends, and anticipating requirements.
  • Works with vendors for support, warranty, and follow-through as needed.
  • Ability to work with a variety of individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written and phone communication skills.
  • The ability to work well with others in a team.
  • Perform all other duties and tasks assigned.
  • Occasional travel as required.
