About the position

The Support Technician will play a crucial role in assisting the field service team during a significant upgrade of vending machine software and network systems over a three-year period. This position involves providing escalation support through a traditional helpdesk as the team upgrades the user interface of 11,000 vending machines in the automotive racing and manufacturing sectors. The technician will need to troubleshoot both software and hardware issues, particularly with Windows OS, and will undergo extensive training on proprietary software systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide escalation support for the field service team during the software upgrade of vending machines.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues related to the vending machines.
  • Assist in ensuring machines are connected to the proper network during later phases of the project.
  • Learn and become a subject matter expert (SME) on the proprietary software and systems used in the vending machines.
  • Document and maintain knowledge bases related to the software and hardware support.

Requirements

  • Experience in help desk support and technical troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Windows 10 and general Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and networking concepts.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members.
