About the position

Join our team for a temporary tech adventure! Our client in the greater Oxnard/Ventura area is seeking two tech-savvy individuals for a 90 business day/4+ months temporary assignment. This role will support their team during a company software roll-out that requires installing approximately 3,000 pieces of equipment across various departments. Shifts could range from 8 AM to midnight, with the majority of work taking place between 3 PM and midnight. Weekend shifts may also be included. As a Temporary IT Help Desk Specialist, you will work in an environment where your passion for PCs and technology is essential. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology, providing critical support during this significant project. As the first point of contact, you'll handle desktop, laptop, and network-related issues, offering top-tier customer service via phone and remote access tools. Depending on your skill set, you might focus on either equipment installation or phone support, ensuring smooth operations during the roll-out. Although this role is temporary, it offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a high-stakes project.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation of approximately 3,000 pieces of equipment across various departments.
  • Handle desktop, laptop, and network-related issues as the first point of contact.
  • Provide customer service via phone and remote access tools.
  • Assist users with their PCs, whether in person, over the phone, or through remote access.
  • Troubleshoot Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office issues.
  • Manage spreadsheets and perform calculations using Microsoft Excel.

Requirements

  • Previous IT support experience is required.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Expertise in Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office troubleshooting.
  • Basic networking knowledge including Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Strong skills in managing spreadsheets and using Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • CompTIA A+ certification is a plus.
  • CompTIA Network+ certification is a plus.
  • MCP certification is a plus.
