About the position

The IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) position at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) involves providing critical support for Account Transfer (AT) related updates across the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS). The role requires coordination with various teams to ensure effective implementation of systems impacting Medicaid IT environments, particularly focusing on Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) and Eligibility and Enrollment Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the review and approval of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) and Eligibility and Enrollment Systems through the application of performance standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and perform systems design and development of major information technology (IT) functional areas.
  • Provide expert and authoritative advice and guidance in the evaluation of proposed, modified, or new legislation and regulations affecting the Medicaid IT environment.
  • Prepare a variety of written products related to Medicaid IT systems, including regulations and briefing documents.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National to apply for this position.
  • Demonstrated IT-related experience showing attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, including leading national level healthcare IT projects and managing account transfers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Medicaid and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) systems.
  • Knowledge of MITA principles and their application in Medicaid IT environments.
