You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN/NETWORK) in the Operational Technology division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Responsibilities

  • Administer the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems in support of the NAVFAC organization's Operational Technology / Information Technology (OT/IT) programs.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on IT/OT-system administration.
  • Interpret and apply IT/OT policies, processes and guidelines, conduct systems and applications analysis/design and recommend resolutions to problems and issues.
  • Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational problems.
  • Evaluate the impact of new guidance on current information technology (IT) programs to advise management on effects of changes.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final top secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451/441 level BASIC within 12 months of appointment.
