About the position

The IT Solution Architect at Sally Beauty Supply LLC is responsible for evaluating business requirements to identify potential software, hardware, and system architectures. The role involves assessing the organization's system integration requirements and developing strategies to address them. The architect must understand data governance and data quality standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency. They will develop a system integration architecture to support the organization's needs using agile processes and determine the appropriate hardware and software components required. Coordination with management, designers, and programmers in the IT department is essential to ensure the solution approach meets organizational needs. The architect will work with application owners and users to understand their systems integration needs, including data quality, security, and access requirements. Compliance with data governance policies, including data security, data privacy, and data retention policies, is crucial while designing and implementing system integration solutions. The role also includes providing architectural guidance and technical service to application teams, developing technical standards and best practices for system integration, and maintaining documentation on processes, procedures, and standards. The architect will evaluate and recommend alternate solutions in key technology areas and work cooperatively with technical personnel across divisions to address significant business issues through technological innovation. Staying up-to-date with emerging data integration technologies and trends is necessary, as is participation in data governance activities to ensure compliance with data management policies. The architect will conduct data quality assessments and develop metrics to ensure data quality issues are identified and addressed. They may also manage technical components of large projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate business requirements to identify potential software, hardware, and system architectures.
  • Assess the organization's system integration requirements and develop strategies to address them.
  • Understand data governance and data quality standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Develop a system integration architecture to support the organization's system integration needs using agile processes.
  • Determine the appropriate hardware and software components required to support the architecture.
  • Coordinate with management, designers, and programmers in the IT department to ensure the solution approach meets organizational needs.
  • Work with application owners and users to understand their systems integration needs, including data quality, security, and access requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance policies, including data security, data privacy, and data retention policies.
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical service to application teams.
  • Develop technical standards and best practices for system integration.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on system integration processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend alternate solutions in key technology areas.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging data integration technologies and trends.
  • Participate in data governance activities to ensure compliance with data management policies.
  • Conduct data quality assessments to ensure data integrated from different sources meets quality requirements.
  • Develop data quality metrics and ensure data quality issues are identified and addressed.
  • Manage technical components of large projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Seven (7) years of experience as IT Solution Architect, Data Engineer, Data Architect, Programming Analyst, or Software Engineer.
  • Five years of experience as an SSIS and T-SQL developer.
  • Demonstrated ability to derive and translate data designs from business concepts using statistical analysis and data visualization.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Five years of experience with Stored Procedures and Performance Tuning.
  • Five years of experience with ETL frameworks and architectural concepts and XML integrations/transformations.
  • Experience integrating with IBM MQ.
  • Five years of experience documenting development while providing knowledge transfer to Support teams.
  • Five years of experience with BizTalk messaging, ESB application, .NET, and C#.
  • Five years of experience with Tableau, Azure PAAS, SQL, Logic Apps, Data Factory, and Data Bricks.
  • Five years of experience with data stores (ODS), data at rest, and unstructured data.
  • Five years of experience in performance tuning, scheduling, and batching in support of IBM MQ as a source/destination.
  • Must have completed a technology transformation project.
