About the position

The IT Procurement Specialist at TEKsystems is responsible for managing software services and ensuring compliance with licensing agreements. This role involves monitoring software license positions, optimizing license usage, and supporting software audits. The specialist will leverage tools to automate software information collection and assist in the procurement process by analyzing software requests and usage trends.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to effective service delivery of software services in ServiceNow.
• Monitors effective license positions and ensures adherence to vendor terms and conditions of use.
• Identifies and actions opportunities for license reclamation and optimization.
• Leverages tools to automate the collection of software information (install & usage) to simplify current processes and provide more focused, exception reporting.
• Reviews software license requests prior to implementation to determine if reuse or the procurement of new licensing is required.
• Reviews software license reporting with business representatives and assists in the overall understanding of the licensing model and allowed usage.
• Generates reports and validates users related to software contract renewals.
• Gathers, organizes, and analyzes software usage trend data to determine maintenance/support requirements and coordinates with business lines to effectively determine strategy for acquisition/renewal of maintenance support program enrollments.
• Supports external software audit activities including readiness assessment, vendor coordination, data analysis, remediation, and communication as required.
• Maintains software asset database to track software entitlements, allocations, and related contract details.

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of software license models and IT Asset Management (ITAM) best practices.
• Experience with ServiceNow, SAM, ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, and Asset Management.
• Ability to analyze software requests and make recommendations for best fit licensure based on industry trends.
