About The Position

Marvell is seeking an IT PMO Director to lead their IT Project Management Office. This role is responsible for all IT projects and for managing and governing these projects. The IT PMO Director will define and implement the overall IT PMO strategy, governance framework, methodologies, and best practices. They will establish standardized project management processes, tools, templates, and reporting mechanisms, and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery maturity and operational effectiveness. The role involves managing the IT project portfolio, ensuring prioritization aligns with strategic business goals, and overseeing large-scale enterprise programs and cross-functional initiatives. The Director will monitor project health, budgets, schedules, dependencies, risks, and resource utilization, providing executive-level reporting. Additionally, they will partner with senior business and IT leaders, facilitate steering committee meetings, and communicate project status. Financial management, resource optimization, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations are also key aspects of this role. The Director will lead, mentor, and develop PMO staff, fostering a high-performance culture and driving the adoption of project management methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT project/program management with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise PMO functions or large-scale IT portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project health, budgets, schedules, dependencies, risks, and resource utilization.
  • Provide executive-level reporting and dashboards on portfolio performance.
  • Partner with senior business and IT leaders to define priorities and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive reviews.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Oversee IT project budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
  • Optimize allocation of project managers.
  • Support vendor management, contract negotiations, and third-party engagements related to project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
  • Establish project governance controls, stage gates, and approval processes.
  • Identify and mitigate program and project risks proactively.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop PMO staff, project managers, and program managers.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Drive training and adoption of project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
