About the position

Brady Corporation is seeking an IT operations engineer to implement, maintain, and optimize the core IT infrastructure that serves our organization. This position requires understanding and the ability to work with a wide range of technologies including but not limited to endpoints, servers, storage, virtualization technologies, network devices, security tools, and cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with IT Infrastructure engineer team on lifecycle - plan, design, implement, secure, operate, and optimize all IT-related infrastructure.
  • Provide support for implementations, upgrades and migrations.
  • Perform security updates, system backups and hardware preventative maintenance.
  • Help build, test and maintain server builds (Windows, Linux).
  • Monitor system health, performance, and capacity.
  • Optimize systems for efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot operating system, application, and hardware performance issues.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation on system configurations, procedures, and processes.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in IT or related field.
  • 2 years of technical experience in IT operations or support.
  • Experience working with multiple vendor tools and platforms: virtualization, compute, storage, network, security, logging/monitoring tools & cloud, backup and recovery.
  • Proven success in working closely with IT teams supporting their environments and improving performance and security.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT or related field preferred.
  • Experience in automation and configuration management preferred.
