About the position

The IT Maintenance Tech - Level 1 position is responsible for supporting the Help Desk functions, including receiving, dispatching, prioritizing, actively resolving, and documenting end-user requests. The role involves deploying, providing administration, and maintenance of IT equipment. Key responsibilities include repairing, updating, installing, and deploying network workstations and voice terminals to the K&N user community, installing and maintaining software applications, and providing basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of hardware and software problems. The technician will also perform voice and data wiring projects as needed in office and plant areas, manage voice and data network administration, and support maintenance of other equipment such as printers, fax machines, copiers, and scanners. Additionally, the role requires working in a supportive environment in the deployment of K&N's Business Management System (BMS), maintaining fully documented files and records, and preparing meaningful reports as specified by IT management.

Responsibilities

  • Support Help Desk functions including receiving, dispatching, prioritizing, actively resolving, and documenting end-user requests.
  • Deploy, provide administration, and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Repair, update, install, and deploy network workstations and voice terminals.
  • Install and maintain software applications.
  • Provide basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of hardware and software problems.
  • Perform voice and data wiring projects as needed in office and plant areas.
  • Manage voice and data network administration including account setup, moves, user accounts, and permissions.
  • Support and maintain other equipment such as printers, fax machines, copiers, and scanners.
  • Work in a supportive environment in the deployment of K&N's Business Management System (BMS).
  • Deploy client software and perform basic configuration.
  • Maintain fully documented files and records; prepare meaningful reports as specified by IT management.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft operating systems and application software preferred.
  • MCSE certification is preferred.
  • Experience utilizing call tracking tools preferred.
  • Ability to provide good customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.
