About the position

The IT Consultant at Boise Cascade is responsible for providing end-user support and optimizing desktop computing solutions to enhance employee productivity. This role involves collaborating with users to assess their needs, resolving inquiries, and managing technical installations and maintenance of systems. The IT Consultant will also engage in project management for cross-departmental initiatives and ensure the effective functioning of server and application enterprise systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide end user support with desktop computing solutions, collaboration, system configuration, and training to optimize employee productivity.
  • Collaborate with end users to assess needs and develop more efficient and effective utilization of desktop computing solutions and company applications.
  • Solve end user inquiries that arise during day-to-day computing.
  • Provide support services to internal and external users of the organization's systems.
  • Utilize help desk ticketing system to coordinate problem identification and resolution with other IT functions.
  • Provide technical analysis, installation, maintenance, and modification of end user operating system and desktop software.
  • Provide analysis and project management for projects that may cross over several departments.
  • Determine best desktop operating system and application software settings to ensure hardware/software compatibility.
  • Evaluate and recommend new desktop devices, collaboration tools, software products and operating systems.
  • Install, test, implement and support the resulting new environment/equipment.
  • Develop documentation and learning aids for end-users.
  • Design, implement, and maintain server and application enterprise systems, and asset management for end users devices.
  • Implement and manage video conferencing infrastructure.
  • Maintain/troubleshoot LAN/WAN environment and install/maintain/troubleshoot cabling infrastructure.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in IS/IT related discipline or at least 2 years working experience.
