About the position

The IT Asset Management Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the tracking, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's IT assets. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to manage a team of asset management specialists, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations while implementing effective asset management strategies throughout the asset lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of IT Asset Management Specialists, providing guidance and support.
• Develop and implement strategies for effective management of IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate records of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and warranties.
• Generate regular reports on asset utilization, performance, and compliance metrics for management review.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers involved in IT asset procurement and maintenance.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements in IT asset management processes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in IT asset management, with expertise in asset tracking and inventory management.
• Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role with strong team management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of IT procurement processes and vendor management practices.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for analyzing complex data sets.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience administering FreshService, ServiceNow, or similar IT service management platforms.
• Familiarity with Intune, Jamf, or similar MDM platforms.
• Experience reconciling data sets within Excel.
• Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks.
• Working towards IT Asset Manager (CITAM) or similar certification.
