About the position

The IT Applications Manager - Finance is responsible for overseeing and supporting a suite of finance applications essential to business operations. This role manages the architecture, maintenance, deployment, and ongoing enhancement of these applications. The manager leads a team of analysts and developers and collaborates with an offshore managed services team to drive business outcomes and improve operational efficiency. Key responsibilities include solution design to meet business and IT standards, maintaining high-quality support for finance applications, and ensuring compliance with service-level agreements (SLAs). The manager fosters innovation and operational effectiveness within the team and partners with other IT and business units to achieve aligned goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of analysts and developers skilled in the finance applications under management, primarily Oracle Fusion Financials and Oracle EPM.
  • Work with business and IT stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and schedule development and enhancement requests, guiding the applications team effectively.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of finance business processes and data flows.
  • Lead solution design sessions based on high-level goals or problem statements, gathering requirements and planning the implementation of solutions.
  • Create and carry out detailed implementation plans for approved solutions.
  • Manage end-to-end small to medium projects/enhancements using a standard SDLC.
  • Oversee production and operational support for finance applications, utilizing either managed service partners or internal staff.
  • Collaborate with IT partners on production support and project initiatives.
  • Establish design principles that align with company and IT security standards, ensuring the team adheres to these principles.
  • Implement security and compliance standards across all managed applications.
  • Oversee all aspects of application configuration and integration.
  • Ensure timely execution of patches and releases, with effective recovery, backup, and archiving strategies.
  • Show enthusiasm for technology, seeking new tools and approaches that benefit the business.
  • Remain technically engaged while also managing the team effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Associate Degree required (Bachelor's preferred).
  • 8+ years managing teams in an ERP environment, with a focus on Finance and/or HCM.
  • 5+ years leading teams in supporting or implementing Oracle Fusion Financials and Oracle EPM.
  • 8+ years hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion Finance modules (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, General Ledger, Projects, Fixed Assets, Procurement).
  • 5+ years supporting Oracle EPM (budgeting, forecasting, and account reconciliation).
  • Proven experience collaborating with business leaders and managing vendor relationships.
  • Expertise in business process analysis, requirements gathering, solution design, vendor management, and enterprise application support.
  • Experience working with offshore and nearshore managed service providers.
