About the position

The IT Application Developer III / Benefits & Care Case Management Product Owner is responsible for supporting the maintenance and operations of the New Mexico Medicaid Management Information System. This role requires strong collaboration with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive product development and integration, ensuring that system modules are up to date and appropriate procedures are followed. The position involves proactive technical support and collaboration with various internal and external parties to manage operations effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and operations of the New Mexico Medicaid Management Information System.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and cross-functional teams to drive product development and integration.
  • Provide technical acumen and support to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve issues that arise by working with team members inside and outside of IT.
  • Ensure system modules are up to date and appropriate procedures are followed in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Manage operations and maintenance of the Shared Services function in partnership with vendors, contractors, and government agencies.
  • Participate in design discussions with multiple stakeholders.
  • Develop an understanding of the user base to guide product decisions.
  • Define requirements, perform analysis, and assist in creating business cases for module improvements or redesign.
  • Assist in release planning, functional research, and testing of releases.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive operational road map in collaboration with business stakeholders.
  • Communicate customer needs and adjust requirements based on technical feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering or similar technical degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in software programming.
  • At least 5 years of experience with Applications Product development and Provider enrollment services operational support.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in design or operations of Medicaid information systems and/or Healthcare Information systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations.
