About the position

The IS Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple information services projects, including infrastructure and software development, ensuring adherence to timeframes, specifications, and funding parameters. This role involves reporting project status, leading teams, and coordinating resources to align projects with strategic business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Report on project status, progress, metrics, risks, test results, and deployment activities
  • Run projects on a day-to-day basis and delegate tasks to individual project managers
  • Lead IS related projects as required, including supervision of EPMO team members
  • Provide coaching to Project Coordinators
  • Review project proposals to determine time frame, funding limitations, and staffing requirements
  • Establish scope documents, work plans, and staffing for each project phase
  • Provide big-picture assistance to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives
  • Confer with project staff to develop appropriate work plans
  • Coordinate with resource owners to assign duties and responsibilities
  • Review status reports and modify schedules as required
  • Establish and facilitate regular status meetings with project personnel
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progress
  • Maintain issue lists and escalate issues to leadership
  • Prepare and present project reports for management and clients
  • Follow departmental procedures for managing projects
  • Participate in technical assessments and business process workflow reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience
  • At least five years of project management experience across business units
  • Experience working with business stakeholders
  • Understanding of full project or product lifecycle
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Agile/Scrum Master experience preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with project management tools and related technology
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in accordance with laws and policies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
