About the position

The Inventory Lead position at Illinois Tool Works, Inc. involves supporting inventory responsibilities in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager and staff. This role is essential for ensuring efficient procurement, storage, and shipment of raw materials while maintaining inventory goals and participating in material management improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with suppliers and customer service to expedite shipments as needed for the business
• Support activities related to procurement, storage, and shipment of raw materials
• Issue POs/releases to suppliers
• Conduct cycle counts
• Effectively communicate and resolve quality and delivery issues with suppliers to prevent reoccurrence of issues
• Responsible for maintaining MOH goals as well as limiting the non-'active' inventory
• Support maintenance of MRD systems
• Participate in material management improvement projects (80/20, flow principles, MRD, PLS, etc.)
• Work collectively within the PSD Materials Team to identify, implement, and maintain best practices within our businesses
• Back up team members for vacation days and assist with vacation scheduling
• Lead relevant materials projects as needed

Requirements

• Must have an associate degree or actively pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, or related education
• Previous materials, supply chain experience required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision at times
• Ability to build and maintain relationships within the division and externally
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, leadership abilities, and organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to read bill of material (BOM), assembly drawings, and prints
• Strong computer skills; experience using Magic, Macola, Windows, Word, Excel, and Intranet required
• Ability to meet deadlines as assigned
