About the position
The Inventory Coordinator at LifeServe Blood Center plays a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction through effective inventory management. This position involves overseeing the inventory of blood products, addressing product issues, and maintaining communication with hospitals and stakeholders to meet their needs. The role also includes evaluating inventory levels, planning for shortages, and ensuring compliance with revenue goals while supporting the organization's lifesaving mission.
Responsibilities
- Daily reporting of inventory to interested agencies
- Daily evaluation of inventory and formulation of action plans to correct any imbalances, including review of outdated products
- Anticipates impact of inventory on external factors such as holidays or weather, and coordinates stakeholders to develop action plans
- Communicates with hospital blood bank staff, leaders, and expired product vendors
- Schedules and organizes all assigned exporting operations, including planning to reach goal, courier information, and follow-up with customer
- Negotiates price on ad hoc shipments (import and export) in line with budgetary expectations
- Maintains confidentiality of LifeServe Blood Center donor, employee, financial and proprietary records, and information at all times
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Specialist (MLS), or at minimum Medical Lab Technology (MLT) certification required
- Four years sales, customer service, or directly-related experience preferred
- Experience working with inventory management is preferred
- Hospital transfusion service experience is ideal
