About the position

The Inventory Control Technician is responsible for managing the inventory of equipment in a yard environment, including locating, receiving, inspecting, and verifying equipment. This role involves conducting inventory counts, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety policies while collaborating with various internal and external resources.

Responsibilities

• Verify and maintain all equipment arriving and departing the equipment yard and document activities accordingly.
• Load and unload equipment and attachments, inspect, and report the condition of equipment.
• Provide daily notifications for all inventory items leaving and returning to the equipment yard through the Shipping and Receiving function.
• Photograph all incoming and outgoing machines and upload pictures as per guidelines.
• Maintain equipment with fuel as required and document consumption through the shipping and receiving function.
• Perform and conduct inventory counts of machines and work tools on a bi-monthly basis.
• Adhere to all applicable safety policies and comply with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Up to 2 years industry experience preferred.
• Proficient with current computer software systems and related hardware.
• General knowledge of machines and work tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of construction rental equipment industry and safe operating skills.
• Technical knowledge and experience with Caterpillar heavy equipment preferred.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments.
• Ability to accurately compile and maintain documentation.
• Ability to efficiently work on several assignments at the same time.
• Great organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual preferred.
