About the position

The Interventional Technologist position at OU Medical Center is an entry-level role designed for candidates with varying levels of experience and certifications. Under supervision, the technologist will provide specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to both adult and pediatric patients, assisting medical staff in diagnosing and treating a range of conditions. The role emphasizes patient-centric care, collaboration with healthcare teams, and the use of advanced imaging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centric care under routine or emergent conditions.
  • Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with procedures ordered by physicians.
  • Communicate and collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams to achieve clinical outcomes and operational goals.
  • Utilize specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures.
  • Conduct post-procedure reviews to ensure all required elements are completed and documented according to protocols.
  • Transfer images and data to archival systems and prepare studies for physician reporting.
  • Perform quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment as per regulatory guidelines.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or higher from a CAAHEP accredited educational program in cardiovascular or radiologic technology.
  • Must meet eligibility requirements for ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI certification in the relevant specialty within 12 months of hire.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Skill in applying principles of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology and medical imaging.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions effectively.
  • Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work with names, numbers, and codes accurately.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations.
