About the position

The position involves operating angiographic equipment for various diagnostic procedures, including biopsy, para/thoracentesis, abscess drainages, peripheral vascular stenting, catheter placement, thrombolytic therapy, and embolization. The individual will act as a scrub assistant during basic interventional and surgical procedures, monitor patients for life-threatening changes, and assist in emergency procedures. Responsibilities also include processing and maintaining diagnostic images, ensuring accuracy in patient records, and performing patient positioning and transporting duties. The role requires knowledge of patient care across different age groups and adherence to departmental policies.

Responsibilities

  • Competently operates angiographic equipment for diagnostic procedures.
  • Acts as a scrub assistant on interventional and surgical procedures.
  • Monitors patients and alerts staff of life-threatening changes.
  • Applies defibrillator and performs CPR when required.
  • Identifies and processes diagnostic images.
  • Compares requisitions to physician orders for accuracy.
  • Post-processes images and accurately labels them.
  • Maintains records in accordance with regulatory agencies.
  • Enters patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Performs patient positioning and transporting duties.

Requirements

  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA within 6 months unless exempted.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced training in Radiologic Technology beyond High School.
  • No prior experience required.
