About The Position

Metrolina Nephrology Associates is seeking a fellowship-trained Nephrologist to join their growing, large, stable, private nephrology practice. The practice has been a leader in kidney disease treatment and management for over 50 years, with 40 Nephrologists and 40 Advanced Practice Providers serving a 10-county area in the Charlotte metro area and caring for 35,000 patients. Requirements

Medical degree and completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Nephrology.
Fellowship training in Nephrology.
ASDIN certified for dialysis access procedures.
Experience in renal failure, chronic kidney disease, ESRD, hypertension, in-center hemodialysis, home dialysis including hemodialysis, and peritoneal dialysis, CVVHD, CVVHDF, plasmapheresis and leukapheresis.
Experience in dialysis access procedures (tunneled catheter placement and exchanges, angiogram, angioplasty, endovascular stent placement, fistuolgrams, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, accessory vein ablation, peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

Providing specialized medical care to patients with kidney disease.
Treatment of end stage renal disease (ESRD).
Manage continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), including clinic visits.
Prescribe and manage plasmapheresis and leukapheresis.
Performing dialysis access procedures in Ambulatory Surgery Centers (ASC), including: fistuolgrams, angioplasties, thrombectomies, tunneled catheter procedures, and peritoneal dialysis catheter procedures.
Shared evening and weekend call for nephrology problems.
Travel to locations within commuting distance when on call, to cover rounds, or as needed for vacation and holiday coverage.
