About the position

The Intervention Specialist Teacher for Mild/Moderate disabilities is responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs. This role focuses on developing individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with other educators and support staff to ensure student success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with mild to moderate disabilities.
  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices in the classroom.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching license in Special Education for Mild/Moderate disabilities.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Experience with behavior management strategies.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology for students with disabilities.
