Gifted Education and Programming in Douglas County School District is a collaborative model with general education teachers, support specialists, and administrators working as a team to identify, plan for, and serve gifted learners. Works with students, families, staff, school leaders, and community partners to identify student needs and provide direct and indirect support for gifted learners in order to support each student in reaching his/her potential. Coursework and experience in gifted identification, instructional practices, collaboration and planning, professional development, and service delivery models specific to high potential, advanced, and gifted learners is required. M.Ed. and/or Endorsement in Gifted Education, preferred. Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position.
