About the position

The position provides translation, interpretive, and case management services for non-English speaking patients at Peoples Community Health Clinic. The role involves performing all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the clinic's mission.

Responsibilities

• Assists with scheduling.
• Provides translation services for all clinic processes.
• Facilitates inter-agency communication to promote appropriate and coordinated care.
• Serves as an advocate for the client.
• Provides translation services for the Allen Women's Health Center.
• Collects data necessary for evaluation and grant reports.
• Works with nursing manager, providers, and assigned clinic nurse to coordinate the Adjustment of Status process (Green Card) for refugees.
• Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Peoples Community Health Clinic Mission and Philosophy.
• Follows policies and procedures.
• Works to improve work processes and clinical outcomes including health disparity and quality improvement collaboratives.
• Develops and maintains own competence.
• Maintains a safe working environment and practices safe working habits.
• Assists in control of Peoples Community Health Clinic resources.
• Protected Health Information Access (HIPAA)

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Successful completion of Language Proficiency Testing or Interpreter Certification
• Ability to relate to others with tact and courtesy, communicating in a culturally sensitive manner regarding their health and well-being.
• Ability to understand medical terminology in English.
• Fluent in Karenni.
• Ability to read and interpret information such as policy/procedure manuals.
