About The Position

The Smeal College of Business, Center for Global Business Studies is seeking an applicant for a part-time job of International Business Case Competition Team Advisor. This role involves working with Smeal International Business students weekly from late January to early April to develop case plans and strategies. The advisor will also spend four days with the students in St. Louis, MO, during their case competition, advising them throughout the process and supervising their behavior while off campus. Additionally, the advisor will communicate with the conference organizer (NASBITE) to facilitate procedures, deadlines, team commitments, company communications, and other actions.

Requirements

  • Current Penn State employee (faculty, staff, technical service, or student) or current Penn State student (not employed previously at the university) for internal application.
  • External applicants must click “Apply” and complete the application process.
  • Must be able to work part-time.
  • Must be available from late January to early April.
  • Must be able to travel to St. Louis, MO for four days.
  • Must be able to supervise student behavior off campus.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with conference organizers and students.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Smeal International Business students every week from late January to early April to develop case plan and strategy.
  • Spend four days with the students in St. Louis, MO as they compete in the case process.
  • Advise them throughout the case competition.
