About the position
The Internal Audit intern position at Selective offers a unique opportunity for college students to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry, specifically in evaluating internal controls and compliance processes. Interns will work closely with the Internal Audit team within the corporate Finance Department, contributing to various audit activities and learning from experienced professionals in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the documentation and testing of internal controls over financial reporting for SOX compliance.
- Support the preparation of SOX workpapers and collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
- Participate in planning and executing operational audits to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of business processes.
- Utilize Alteryx to analyze and interpret data to support audit activities under the guidance of the Data Analytic Senior.
- Assist in the preparation of audit reports and maintain organized and accurate audit documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Must be a current college student majoring in Finance or a related field.
- Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
- Experience with Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is preferred.
