About the position
The UX Design Intern position at Philips in Plymouth, MN, offers an opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in the HealthTech industry. This internship, lasting 3-4 months during the summer of 2025, involves supporting UX Designers in creating user experiences for clinical software, translating business requirements into interaction frameworks, and conducting user research. Interns will collaborate with a diverse team to advocate for user needs and ensure product alignment with Philips' brand requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support UX Designers in designing user experiences for clinical software.
- Translate business requirements and user needs into interaction frameworks, concepts, scenarios, workflows, and wireframes.
- Conduct desktop research and create user interface concepts, mockups, prototypes, and documentation.
- Analyze user and stakeholder needs and create frameworks and interaction concepts.
- Establish design principles and guide teams with clarity and accuracy.
- Craft experiences, prototypes, and demos that align with the Philips brand and design language.
- Create information architectures and workflows, as well as functional designs for application screens.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a BFA/BS major studying User Experience Design or related design competencies.
- Interest in designing for the healthcare domain and a passion for the positive impact of design.
- Curiosity, creativity, self-starter attitude, flexibility, and empathy in creating user experiences.
- Collaborative nature to work as part of a product development team.
- Ability to present work with clear communication.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with sketching, prototyping, and specification to define interaction concepts.
- Familiarity with usability principles specific to various contexts of use.
Benefits
- Hourly pay range of $25.00 to $28.00, plus overtime eligibility.
