About The Position

Labcorp is seeking an Laboratory Assistant Intern to join our Companion Diagnostics team in Morrisville, NC. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday / 40hrs per week Job Responsibilities: Conduct research and assist in the development, optimization, and validation of companion diagnostic assays using molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR, and sequencing. Prepare biological samples, reagents, and controls while adhering to quality and regulatory standards. Perform laboratory experiments, troubleshoot problems, and resolve technical issues that may arise. Maintain accurate and organized documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate in regular team meetings and present data or progress reports as needed. Comply with lab safety protocols and support maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory environment. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, quality assurance, project management, and regulatory affairs, to help ensure timely project milestones are met. Minimum Qualifications: Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in biology, genetics, molecular biology or biochemistry Additional Job Standards: Coursework in lab-based sciences (e.g. genetics, genomics, molecular biology, or biotechnology). Familiarity with pipetting, sample preparation, and standard laboratory equipment. Hands-on experience with basic molecular biology techniques, such as PCR, gel electrophoresis, DNA extraction, etc. Understanding of basic laboratory safety and procedures. Ability to read and follow SOPs. Skill in basic data analysis and documentation. Strong recordkeeping and ability to prepare data for review. Requirements
