Fairstead is seeking an Accounting Intern to join our Finance Team for the summer. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will collaborate closely with our accounting team on key projects, gaining insight into financial operations, reporting, and system implementations. This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to develop practical accounting skills and gain experience.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and basic formulas).
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end close procedures, including preparing journal entries and financial reconciliations.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and assist in reviewing financial transactions.
  • Support the implementation of a new ERP system, including data migration and system testing.
  • Assist in remapping the general ledger (GL) chart of accounts to align with updated financial structures.
  • Analyze financial data and contribute to variance analysis reports.
  • Conduct research on accounting standards and best practices to support financial decision-making.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure the accuracy of financial information.
