About the position

The position involves assisting with technical fieldwork related to environmental science, including aquatic resources delineation, soil assessments, and wildlife surveys. The role requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to prepare environmental documents and participate in agency consultations for permitting and environmental reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with technical fieldwork, including aquatic resources delineation, soil assessments, and vegetation and wildlife surveys.
  • Assist with aquatic resource delineation reports and permits for local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Contribute technical subject matter related to natural resource considerations during environmental reviews.
  • Participate in agency consultations as part of permitting and environmental review efforts.
  • Work on multidisciplinary teams to prepare environmental documents by the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Enrolled in a four-year college or university majoring in environmental science, natural resources, ecology, environmental planning, or a related field.
  • Completed at least three years towards a four-year degree majoring in the abovementioned fields.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple simultaneous work assignments.
  • Ability to present data and project information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to travel to project locations on an as-needed basis (up to 50%).

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 12.0-semester credits of soil-specific coursework.
  • Excellent verbal and technical written communication skills.
  • Experience producing maps using ArcGIS applications.
  • Flora and fauna identification experience or coursework.
