About the position
The Intern in Computational and Applied Mathematics at SRI International will engage in research and development focused on generative AI models, scalable graph analysis methods, and network sciences. This role supports a new computational and mathematical sciences team, aiming to develop algorithms for various applications and assist in commercializing relevant technologies.
Responsibilities
- Training generative AI models
- Fine tuning LLMs
- Designing and implementing distributed algorithms for large graphs
- Assist in developing research ideas
- Instantiate the approaches in prototype software
- Lead the experimental evaluation of these ideas, compile results, and communicate the results in presentations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering with a focus on computational sciences or a related area.
- Some publications, experience in algorithm development associated with artificial intelligence and graph theory.
- Due to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
