About the position

Arcadis' Seattle office is seeking an Interior Designer to join our team! The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and have experience in retail design projects. We are looking for a creative, organized, and self-motivated individual who is a self-starter and can work both independently and as part of a team. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation and documentation abilities. A solid understanding construction documents and experience in construction administration is essential. The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of building and accessibility codes/standards and be capable of delegating tasks, mentoring, and training intermediate and junior designers. The candidate should have an interest in developing project management skills and ability to effectively collaborate with consultants, contractors, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Work across various aspects of interior design and architecture, ranging from concept development to construction administration.
  • Manage multiple projects while collaborating with clients and team members effectively.
  • Work in all aspects of design – programming, space planning, material selections/specifications, construction documents and construction administration.
  • Travel during construction administration up to 4-6 times per year.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the architectural design process and how to effectively integrate interior elements and concepts with minimal supervision.
  • Review preliminary space plans and design concepts to ensure code, accessibility, and functional requirements are met.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFI’s.
  • Coordinate and issue document revisions.
  • Produce innovative design concepts that meet the client and project needs while also respecting the project budget.
  • Conceptualize and describe design ideas through 3D visualization, including graphics.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in interior design.
  • Up to 3 years of relevant interior design experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in REVIT is required.
