The Design Consultant role at Ethan Allen involves working closely with customers to create personalized design solutions that align with their preferences and budgets. This position requires a blend of design expertise and sales acumen, as the consultant will be responsible for selling Ethan Allen products and services while ensuring exceptional customer service. The role emphasizes teamwork, effective communication, and the use of social media to promote the brand and engage with clients. Compensation is primarily incentive-based, rewarding successful sales performance.

Responsibilities

  • Create design solutions that align with customer preferences and budgets.
  • Sell Ethan Allen's products and services.
  • Represent the Ethan Allen brand in all customer interactions.
  • Conduct home visits to evaluate customer needs and provide tailored design solutions.
  • Utilize grassroots marketing and social media to grow the business.
  • Educate customers about the complimentary design services offered by Ethan Allen.
  • Stay updated on design and color trends to create fashionable solutions.
  • Coordinate with the team to provide exceptional customer service before and after sales.
  • Participate in corporate marketing and training programs as required.
  • Educate customers on available financing options.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the design center's portfolio.
  • Utilize corporate systems and technology for project design and presentations.
  • Enter orders using the retail point of sale system.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly design center environment.
  • Collaborate with the Design Center Leader to develop business and marketing plans.
  • Use technology like 3-D Room Planner and CRM to enhance client relationships.
  • Leverage social media to enhance personal and brand presence.
  • Build relationships with outside talent via social media.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design-related field with at least one year of practical interior design experience.
  • Broad knowledge of interior design and effective sales techniques.
  • Working knowledge of online sales and design tools.
  • Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
  • General understanding of social media and grassroots marketing for business development.
  • Valid driver's license or alternative transportation means during business hours.
  • Intermediate competency in digital floor planning technology; experience with 3D applications is a plus.
  • Experience with interactive technology for design concepts, such as augmented and virtual reality.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.

  • Experience in using social media for business development.
  • Proven experience in sales and customer relationship management.

Benefits

  • Minimum annual recoverable draw of $50,600.
  • Incentive compensation based on written sales, with potential earnings up to $100,000 or more annually.
