About the position

The Intake/Scheduling Representative serves as the primary liaison between families, referring sources, Munroe-Meyer Institute staff, and clinicians. This role coordinates the MMI scheduling process for clients referred for diagnostic evaluation and clinical services. The position is based in Omaha, NE, and operates within the Munroe-Meyer Institute's Patient Information Office. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with hours that may vary. This is a hybrid position, requiring part-time work on-site and part-time work off-site.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary liaison between families, referring sources, and Munroe-Meyer Institute staff and clinicians.
  • Coordinate the MMI scheduling process for clients referred for diagnostic evaluation and clinical services.
  • Utilize clinical scheduling software to manage appointments and referrals.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and healthcare professionals to identify and triage healthcare needs.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information discreetly.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • 3 years of general office support experience, including at least 1 year in clinical scheduling, intake, referral coordination, or related experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of scheduling healthcare services.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interface professionally with individuals at all levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant coursework or specialized training in business.
  • Experience in healthcare service delivery coordination and clinic scheduling.
  • Knowledge of EPIC software.
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities and interdisciplinary care teams.
