About the position
The position provides clinical intake service and assessment processes for the psychiatry service line at Prisma Health. The role involves scheduling staff to appropriately match assessment volume and maintaining Emergency Department consultations across various campuses. The individual ensures that comprehensive assessments are provided to all clients and maintains statistics on call volume, assessments, and patient assignments to physicians.
Responsibilities
- Maintains statistical data on all inquiry calls, assessments, and no-shows, as well as daily activities of the Intake & Assessment Department.
- Evaluates patients at various healthcare facilities.
- Provides clinical information to insurance companies for pre-certification.
- Conducts telephone assessments for professionals in the community to determine clinical appropriateness for admission.
- Represents Prisma Health positively when interacting with community professionals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field of study.
- Three (3) years of psychiatric social work or counseling experience in a hospital setting.
Nice-to-haves
- Emergency room experience.
- Group therapy and private practice exposure.
- Individual, family, and marriage counseling experience.
- Skills necessary to assess patients of all ages.
- Ability to communicate with appropriate nomenclature when reviewing patients with physicians.
- Knowledge of all programs within the Prisma Health System.
- Ability to type and complete Clinical Documentation on the computerized documentation system.
