About the position

The Insurance Attorney will be a key member of the Insurance Practice Group, responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in the insurance industry. This role involves handling a variety of insurance-related legal matters, conducting research, and advocating for clients in litigation and negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle a diverse caseload of insurance-related matters, including coverage disputes, bad faith claims, and subrogation cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to provide strategic advice and guidance to clients on insurance-related issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business objectives and provide proactive legal solutions that align with their goals.
  • Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums, advocating on their behalf in insurance litigation matters.
  • Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Stay abreast of changes in insurance laws and regulations, advising clients on compliance issues and potential impacts on their operations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (Top 25%)
  • Admission to the state bar in Louisiana
  • 3-4 years of experience in handling complex coverage matters and litigation
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
